Presenting the Findings

Presenting a compelling argument will be the first step in making a change to your current team name or mascot. As shown on the Data page, finding a compelling argument and identifying the proper analytics to get you the answer is instrumental to having a compelling argument; therefore demographics must be collected for data to be counted.

Having survey participants as well as your own presentation ready for your school board or superintendent will be essential in getting your point across and making any change. Letting students, community members and parents speak from their heart is often the best way to let people know the meaning behind your numbers.

In the case of the Oregon board of education banning  names in 2012, the board held over eight hours of public testimony on the topic and received over 700 pieces of written testimony. Encourage all those involved in the process to help and speak out.
